The Heath Police Department is a progressive and service oriented agency that responds to approximately 16,000 calls for service a year. In July of 1997, the Police Department became an internationally accredited law enforcement agency through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies [www.calea.org] and has maintained that distinction.

The Department is comprised of eighteen full-time sworn officers and a small reserve force. The Patrol Section provides 24/7 continuous service to the citizens and business community of Heath investigating a wide variety of criminal offenses in addition to their traffic enforcement duties. The officers are assisted by a records clerk and an administrative assistant. The agency has its own communications center staffed around the clock by six full-time dispatchers. There are three officers currently assigned to the Detective Section and are responsible for all serious crimes such as homicide, burglary, and armed robbery.

The department also offers electronic fingerprinting for background checks. Click here to see the schedule of availability and price list. There is NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED for this service and no scheduling fee will be charged. Contact Sergeant Craig Black with any questions.

Deer Management Program

The deer population within the City of Heath has grown significantly over the past several years to the extent that an overpopulation problem exists. This is clearly evident by the increase in vehicle-deer accidents, increase in complaints regarding destruction of property, and statistics supplied by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

The purpose of the Deer Management Program is to establish a policy and procedure for the humane reduction of the deer population through the introduction of a deer bow hunting program. Questions? Email rpeterson@heathohio.gov
